During this period, an update will be carried out and the portal will be connected to the central login procedure (single sign-on). This will integrate the campus portal into the existing multi-factor authentication (MFA) procedure.

For you, this means that you will no longer log in with your ZIM ID and password, but will have secure access to most services on campus (Stud.IP, campus portal, etc.) during your session using your already activated MFA method.

• To update Citavi on your university-issued computer, please install the software distribution package "Citavi 7.2" from ZENworks. Please note that you have to be logged into the university network or use a VPN connection to do so. For VPN access, please read the information on the newly introduced eduVPN application.
• Under Citrix, the Citavi 7.2 update is scheduled for mid-January and will be carried out centrally by the ZIM.
• On privately owned devices (this applies in particular to students), you may install the new version of Citavi yourself. To use Citavi, you must activate the licence for 2026 in your Citavi account. Please visit the Citavi website for details on activating your licence.

This applies to all university services that are currently connected via Shibboleth, such as Stud.IP, Ilias and ZIMI.Shibboleth

The new Shibboleth login screen will take on the look of Microsoft Office 365 login screens. You can find detailed information with screenshots in the help portal.

As a new AI system, ZIMI is constantly learning and undergoing further development. Please support ZIMI by leaving your feedback (thumbs up/down in the chat or text feedback via the corresponding button in the system). Thank you!

Due to the evolving IT support structure, public access is currently restricted. Whenever necessary, appointments will be scheduled with you through the ticketing system.

Please use the appropriate form on the IT Support portal to create a ticket. Going forward, new ticket requests will no longer be accepted via email sent to IT Support.

The IT Support staff will process your ticket requests as quickly as possible from Monday to Thursday, 9:00 to 16:00, and Friday, 9:00 to 13:00. During this time, IT Support may also contact you by phone for further inquiries if necessary.

If so, please run the Citavi 6 package in the ZENworks software distribution service as soon as possible. You will get a new user licence and the latest Citavi version (6.19). If you are outside the university network, you will need to connect via OpenVPN first. The update has already been carried out centrally for the Citrix environment. If you encounter any problems, please contact ZIM Support.

On personal devices (this mainly affects students) you must manually activate the new licence via your Citavi account. Instructions on how to do this can be found on the Citavi website. If you need support, you can also send an e-mail to citavi@uni-passau.de.

Note on Citavi 7: Citavi 7 was recently released. We recommend Citavi 6 for the time being, as Citavi 7 has not yet been sufficiently tested in practice.

We will endeavour to keep the downtime as brief as possible. Please bear with us for the inconvenience. Once the update has been completed, Stud.IP will again be available with its new design and features. Please note that, due to the changes made, some of the familiar features will have been relocated. Detailed instructions will be provided on the Help portal for your convenience. You will also have the option of taking a virtual guided tour when you sign in for the first time after the update.
